Local Firms Make Va. biz List Of Leaders

James Madison University, PBGH, Nielsen Builders and four other organizations made Virginia Business magazine's List of Leaders for 2006.

Virginia Business ranks companies in 19 industries in its annual list. The following businesses from Harrisonburg and Rockingham County made the list, which appears in the march 2007 issue of the magazine:

Wharton Aldhizer & Weaver PLC: tied for the state's 45th-largest law firm with 21 attorneys
PBGH LLP: Virginia's 18th largest accounting firm employs 33 certified public accountants.
Rockingham Memorial Hospital: No. 18 among the state's hospitals, with $197.8 million in patient revenue in fiscal 2005.
James Madison University: the state's sixth-largest university with 16,033 full-time students.
Bridgewater College: No. 10 among private colleges with 1,498 full-time students.
Eastern Mennonite University: 16th-largest private college with 1,116 full-time students.
Nielsen Builders Inc.: Virginia's 20th-largest general contractor with $96 million of work put in place in 2006.
